General post-apocalyptic, dystopian nastiness: His world is pretty shitty. Not gonna lie. Decaying ecosystem, mutated wildlife, zombies, etc etc.
Drugs use: Judges were kept on a steady diet of aggressors, morality inhibitors, psycho-stimulants, etc to keep them loyal to the Chief Judge. This includes Fairfax. Some of his canon deals with the effects of detoxing from these drugs, and he has a very casual attitude towards them.
Child abuse: Fairfax was emotionally and physically abused by his father.
Domestic Violence: He had a mutually destructive relationship with his wife that involved arguments in which she threw objects at him, and he forcibly restrained her after she turned violent towards him directly.
Codependency/Grooming: Codependency defined as a relationship where one person supports or enables another person's drug addiction, alcoholism, poor mental health, immaturity, irresponsibility, or under-achievement. He previously had a weird, non-romantic (?) but still incredibly strange and unhealthy relationship with his tutor/mentor figure, Sidney De'Ath, AKA Judge Death, and was singled out when younger.
Infidelity: Fairfax was married and had an affair with a fellow Judge.
Profanity: Self explanatory.
